"Thomas, who under the designation of Thomas Arbuthnott of Arbuthnottshaugh, Esquire, Doctor of Physic in Montrose, matriculated his arms in the Lyon Office. He acquired the estate of Balglassie, and changed its name to Arbuthnottshaugh. He married Margaret Forbes, daughter of Forbes of Thornton, and died 1767, having had issue"
