William married Anne KER Countess of Lothian,, daughter of Robert KER 2nd Earl of Lothian and Annabella CAMPBELL, on 9 December 1631.1 (Anne KER Countess of Lothian, was born about 1612 and died on 26 March 1667 in Newbattle, Midlothian, Scotland 1.)
Marriage Notes:
"On the 9 December 1630 his marriage to Anne Ker, eldest daughter of the late Earl of Lothian, took place. Her father had left the Newbattle estates, to which she was heiress, deeply in debt. He had sold Prestongrange to Mr. Alexander Moriesoun, 11 June 1622. Morphet and Leithinhopes in Peebles were sold to Sir James Preston of Penicuik 17 February 1623. After his death his creditors apprised more of the remaining property. Sir Robert Ker of Ancrum having redeemed the lands, lordship, and barony of Newbattle and the lands of Eisthouses and Westhouses in the same lordship, obtained charters in his own favour from the Crown 12 February 1631 and 26 February 1631. He resigned these lands on 30 July 1631, when they were granted by Crown charter to Sir William Ker and his wife, Lady Anne Ker, in conjunct infeftment, and to their heirs, whom failing, to Sir William Ker's heirs-male, whom failing, to Sir Robert's heirs-male, with reservation of a liferent to Sir Robert Ker. On the 31 October 1631 Sir William Ker was created Earl of Lothian and Lord Ker of Newbattle."
