Marie married Reverend Mr David LYELL of Balhall, Minister of Montrose, son of Walter LYELL of Balhall and Margaret HAMILTON of Borland, after 17 November 1658.1 (Reverend Mr David LYELL of Balhall, Minister of Montrose was born in 1634 1 and died in March 1696.)

He had 'a thundering way of preaching'. He left £100 to the poor.
