"Alexander Gordon, 3rd of Birsemoir, succeeded his father and had service as heir general to him on 18 August 1626, then as heir to him in the lands of Birsemoir on 27 September 1637, and as heir to his grandfather, John Gordon of Birsemoir, on 7 April 1666. He m. at Aberdeen, on 18 October 1642, to Isobel, daughter of Patrick Leslie, Provost of Aberdeen."
