GORDON, Duncan of Perslie 1
Duncan married Agnes BARCLAY, daughter of Walter BARCLAY of Bathnagoak, then of Newton and of that Ilk and Jonet FORBES. (Agnes BARCLAY was born about 1555.) Marriage Notes: "He is probably the Duncan Gordon, 'a gentleman of the house of Lesmore,' who with his wife, Agnes Barclay, of the house of Gartly, appears in A Breiffe Narration of the Services Done to Three Noble Ladies, by Gilbert Blakhall, as having 'souffered great persecution for their constancie in the Catholic religion'." 1 |
