BRUNSTOUNE

Modern Brunston or Brunstane. It lies about two or three miles south west of Penicuik, itself situated about ten miles south of Edinburgh city centre. Brunstane Castle, now a ruin, was built for the Crichton family, and the area was closely linked to them until purchased by Mr Prestoun of Fentonbarns at the beginning of the 17th century.

David married Margaret HASTIE on 9 March 1722 in Penicuik parish, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ (Margaret HASTIE was born about 1695.)
