  Research Notes:

TIRRIESOUL

Also known as Tilliesoul, and, as in moder phrase 'Tower or Torriesoul'. It seems to have been an old name for Huntly, though some have placed it near Tomintoul.

James married Jean ANDERSON.1 (Jean ANDERSON was born about 1635 and died in 1708 1.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander of Killiehuntly had by this marriage a son, James, designed 'of Tillisoul,' or 'Terrisoul' and 'Camdell,' who married a Jean Anderson. James died in 1692, and his wife Jean in 1708. (Family Pedigree referred to.)" (page 3)

"Alexander Gordon of Killihuntly had by his wife, Jean Grant, a son James, usually designed of Tilliesoul, sometimes Torrisoul (now part of the town lands of Huntly), and of Camdell, a place a little below Tomintoul in Strathavon." (page 6)
