Apr., joined Lord Cornwallis when he arrived at Wilmington upon his expedition to Virginia; Cornwallis soon after gave him a com. to raise an Independent Coy. of Horse; k. during that summer in a skirmish with a party of Americans (American Loyalist Claims, Treasury Rec., P.R.O.).
