Elizabeth married Alexander MAULE, son of Sir Thomas MAULE of Panmure, 'the blind knight' and Elizabeth LINDSAY, by 6 November 1568(charter).^{1 2} (Alexander MAULE was born about 1448.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander, 'who was ane prodigal man, not gewen for the weil of his hows.' He left Scotland in 1489, having quarrelled with his wife, taking large sums of money with him. When or how he died is not known ; neither he nor his money was ever heard of, and it was supposed that he had been robbed and murdered. He married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir David Guthrie of that Ilk, and had by her, who died about 1526 and was buried in the kirk of Monikie, two sons and a daughter"

One of the sons listed by Scots Peerage, volume 7, has been identified by M. Wade as the grandson of Alexander Maule, and not his son.

For 1568 we should read 1468. The context of the charter in pages 242-245 of Registrum de Panmure make it clear that 1568 is aerror, typographical or otherwise. ^{1 2 3}
