Note: There are 9 baptisms in the Montrose parish register between 1639 and 1668 whose father's name is David Strauchin or Strauchane, and no mother's name given. These have not been checked by this researcher but may be of interest to others looking in a more detailed way at this family. One, Androw Strauchin, is in 1639; the others, Jean, Unnamed, David, Cathrin, Janet, are between 1652 and 1660, immediately before the three children named specifically here as the children of David Strachan, Minister of Montrose.
