  General Notes:

Old Parish Registers
West Linton parish Peeblesshire
Baptisms

"1777
Nisbet & Ballentyne [sic]
Janet Daugh.r of John Nisbet & Kathrine Balentyne [sic] was born June 22d & bapd the 6 of July"

"October 27 1798
Compeared Adam Scott and Janet Nisbet in Bonington convicted of Antenuptial fornication by their own confession after dealing with their consciences to impress their minds with a sence of their guilt they were rebuked before the session and appointed to appear before the congregation on Sabbath first to be rebuked and restored to their privileges which was done accordingly"

According to LDS member submission in Family Search a Janet, Thomas and James Nisbet were born between 1770-80 at West Linton to John Nisbet & Catherine Balantine, (various spellings). Adam Scott is of interest because Scott is the surname of the mother of Isabella Sandilands, and may be a border link. An Adam Scot was baptised in 1780 in West Linton. 1 2
