FATHER

The Thanage of Fermartyn lists Thomas Meldrum as the son of Sir William Meldrum. This is questionable. If Thomas Meldrum was the grandfather of Patrick Leslie, and Patrick's father was William, Leslie, 4th of Balquhain who died in 1467, the dates simply do not allow this. Since he is named as 'Sir Thomas Meldrum of Fyvie' the alternative is that he was the son of Alexander and the brother of Sir William. 1 2
