His only son, William, died aged 10, in 1778, and he had three daughters: Christian, married 1783 Charles Gordon of Buthlaw. Mary, married 1784 General Alexander Leith-Hay of Leith Hall . Elizabeth, married 1794 Colonel Erskine Fraser of Woodhill."
