CARMYCHELL, John, Sir 1User ID: F133. John married Sister WARDLAW, daughter of Sir Henry WARDLAW 2nd of Wilton and Unknown.1 (Sister WARDLAW was born about 1365.) Marriage Notes: "Sir John de Carmychell had a charter between 1374 and 1384 from William, Earl of Douglas and Mar, of the lands of Carmychell. This charter was confirmed on 10 October 1414 by Archibald, Earl of Douglas. Sir John also had charters from his cousin, Sir James Sandilands of Calder, of the lands of Little Galway in Wiston, dated 1 November 1385, confirmed by King Robert II. on 8 May 1387. He died ante 28 May 1417, having married a sister of Henry Wardlaw, Bishop of St. Andrews, and by her had two sons (1) William (2) John" |
