"Alexander (Forbes), on 29 April 1477, was served heir to his grandfather in the barony of Pitsligo. He married Isobel (or Elizabeth) Wemyss, of what family is not certain, who survived him, and in 1501 was the wife of Thomas Blair. She was alive 16 August 1524, when she granted a tack of her terce lands to her 'lovit carnale sone,' John Forbes of Pitsligo, for £40 yearly, payable to her at Dysart in Fife. By her he had issue"
