Isobel(2) married James SCRIMGEOUR of Dudhope, Constable of Dundee, son of Sir James SCRIMGEOUR of Dudhope, Constable of Dundee and Margaret MAITLAND, about 27 April 1495.1 (James SCRIMGEOUR of Dudhope, Constable of Dundee was born about 1448 and died about 1503 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

He (James Scrimgeour) had a charter on 27 April 1495 from Andrew, Lord Gray, of the third part of the lands of Dudhope, co. Forfar, to himself and the heirs-male of his 'apparent spouse' Isobel Gray, and on 27 April the same year another grant of the customs of 'colt and coltsilver' levied at the 'first faire' of Dundee. He died about 1503. He married Isobel, daughter of Andrew, Lord Gray; she survived him, married, secondly, Sir Adam Crichton of Ruthven, and thirdly, Sir John Campbell of Lundy"

"James Scrimgeour of Dudhope, constable of Dundee, had a charter {Mag. Sig., L., xiii., No. 165) from Andrew, Lord Gray, master of king's household, to him and the heirs male to be procreated betwixt him and Isabella Gray, his wife ; which failing to his heirs male, bearing the name and arms of Scrimgeour, of the lands of Dudhope ; and of that custom accruing out of the burgh of Dundee, to Lord Gray, as sheriff of Forfarshire, called the cold or colt silver, 27 April 1495, confirmed by royal charter of 30 June 1495. He died about 1503. He married Isabella, third daughter of Andrew, third Lord Gray ; she survived him, and married, secondly, James Crichton of Ruthven."
