In his death certificate of 1869, James Strachan was recorded as a single man of 27 years of age. Both of his parents were still alive when he died. His father, John, died two days after James. 1

  Medical Notes:

Alexr. Robb MD certified the cause of death.

John Strachan, brother of James Strachan, who was present where is death occurred, gave notice of his death before the registrar at Towie on 31 March 1869.
