"CHARLES M'COMBIE of Tillyfour, born 1804, eldest son of Charles M. of Tillyfour and Ann Black; educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen; M.A. (3rd April 1820); licen. by Presb. of Alford 29th March 1826 ; pres. by Sir John Forbes, Bart., of Craigievar in May, and ord. 24th Aug. same year ; LL.D.
(Marischal College [last conferred by it] 8th Sept. 1860); died 25th Aug. 1874. He marr.
(1) 11th June 1835, Isabella Elizabeth (died 28th July 1838, aged 23), daugh. of Robert Scott, min. of Glenbuchat, and had issue Charles, born 2nd April 1836 died on passage on Horizon from Liverpool to Melbourne 22nd Nov. 1857; Mary Margaret, born 23rd Oct. 1837, died 16th March 1839:
(2) 9th May 1843, Eliza (died 13th March 1868), eldest daugh. of Henry Lamond of Pitmurchy, and had issue Harry, M.A., in Oriental Bank, born 16th June 1844, died 23rd Jan. 1871; Ann Helen, born 19th Dec. 1845, died 25th Aug. 1865; Margaret Shand, born 8th May 1847 (marr. 13th June 1871, Henry David Adamson of Balquhain); William, born 6th Nov. 1848, died 20th Feb. 1871; William Lamond, born 24th May 1850, died 9th Aug. 1867; Isabella Morrice, born 5th Sept. 1851 (marr. Thomas Young, D.D., min. of Ellon); Helen, born 25th Jan. 1853, died 19th June 1868; Rachel, born 26th Sept. 1854 (marr. Charles married Isabella Elizabeth SCOTT, daughter of Reverend Mr Robert SCOTT Minister of Glenbuchat and Mary Margaret FORSYTH, on 11 June 1835.¹ (Isabella Elizabeth SCOTT was born on 27 May 1813 ^{1 2}, baptised on 29 June 1813 in Glenbucket parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland ² and died on 28 July 1838 ¹.)

Charles next married Eliza LAMOND, daughter of Harry LAMOND of Pitmurchy and Margaret SHAND, on 9 May 1843. (Eliza LAMOND was born on 4 November 1821 and was baptised on 4 December 1821 in Lumphanan parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.)
