No marriage record has been found in the parish registers of the Church of Scotland for this couple. The 1665 baptism of their son William in Prestonpans parish, however, does not indicate any irregularity of marriage status which would have precluded baptism for their child, so it can be assumed their marriage had taken place before William's baptism.
