"There was a sasine in Aberdeenshire dated 16 June 1605 that included Patrick Cheyne of Raneistoun (2388), his sons Thomas (2432) and Walter (2434), Walter's wife, Janet Fraser (13925) and Isobel Cheyne (2394), his niece, spouse of Magnus Mowat of Balquhollie. The sasine probably concerned the disposition of some of his lands.
