"Sir James Hamilton of Priestfield, born 29th May 1603. He was served heir to his nephew, Thomas Hamilton, son of his younger brother, Sir John Hamilton of Trabroun, 15th October 1647. He married, about 1623, Anne, daughter of Sir Patrick Hepburn of Waughton, and had : -

(1) Thomas Hamilton, born 27th March 1627; died August 1636.

(2) Sir James Hamilton of Priestfield. Served heir to his father 5th January 1666, and was still living 169 1.

(3) Patrick Hamilton, born 14th November 1629.

(4) Alexander Hamilton, born 10th July 1631."
