"Robert Congalton or Hepburn of Keith, succeeded his father and was served heir to him and to Patrick Congalton of that Ilk, his grandfather, on 16 February 1703. He also succeeded to his maternal grandmother's lands of Keith-Marischall for which he had a charter under the Great Seal, dated 7 January 1694, and following which he assumed the surname and arms of Hepburn of Keith."
