"Sir James Haldane, 6th of Gleneagles was the son of Sir John Haldane, 5th of Gleneagles and Marjorie Lawson. He married Margaret Erskine, daughter of Robert Erskine, 4th Lord Erskine and Isabel Campbell. He died circa 29 March 1547.
On 29 November 1513 he was a minor at the time of his father's death, but was by virtue of the Act of Dispensation granted to the heirs of those slain at Flodden, deemed of lawful age, and retoured heir."
