General Notes:
There are two baptisms in Inveravon parish registers, Banffshire, that are potentially baptisms of this Mary Grant. Neither names a mother, and it is not known as yet whether each baptism entry refers to the same father, since in Gaelic culture of the time 'Peter' and 'Patrick' can be interchanged. If the two named fathers are, in fact, the same individual, then clearly the first-born child died and a second one was given the name of the deceased child. If the two fathers named are not the same individual, then it is likely that the first baptism, in 1704, is that of this Mary Grant.
