Note:
Above are the entries from Fasti Ecclesiae, volume 6 linked to Patrick Grant who was minister of Cromdale parish.
In Fasti Ecclesiae, volume 8, Addenda and Corrigenda, there is a notable correction. The entry for Abernethy parish for 1585 reads as follows:
"Patrick Grant, M.A.; apparently identical with Patrick Grant, son of John Grant of Freuchie, whom the said John provided with the 'Living of Rothiemurchus'; before 1584. In 1624 he offered to demit the Kirk of Kincardine as part provision for a min. at Rothiemurchus. But Kincardine seems to have remained under his charge, for he was held respon sible by the Synod for building the church there 1625-7. He had issue, Janet. [Recs. Synod of Moray, 25th Oct. 1625, 25th Oct. 1626 (see Rothiemurchus); Banff Sas., 8th July 1630.]"
In other words, the Patrick (or Peter) Grant, of this file, was NOT Minister of Abernethy parish, nor of Duthil parish. As a result of this error in volume 6, the two wives named for Mr Patrick Grant, in the Abernethy entry, may not be correct for this Patrick Grant, minister of Cromdale.
The entry for the Patrick Grant, of this file, in Fasti Ecclesiae, volume 8, Addenda and Corrigenda, is as follows:
(at Cromdale in 1590)
"Patrick Grant, as min. of Advie, Cromdale and Inverallan, pres. to vicarage of same 20th March 1590-1 on death of Thomas Rattray. [Reg. Sec. Sig., Ixii, 207.]"
