DELLACHAPLE

The spelling varies through time and publication: also, Dellachapple, Delichaple, Dallachaple, Dalchapple, Dellahapple etc.

Dellachapple is in Cromdale on the eastern side of the River Spey. The Grants of Dellachaple are reputed to be of Clan Chiaran and to have emerged from or were closely related to the Grants of Achinarrow.

"In Cromdale is Dellachaple, the seat of the head of Clan Chiaran, whilst on the west side of the river is Achinarraw, where the Clan was first seated. Also close by is Dunan, the first seat of the Clan Allan and the also the house of the Chief of Clan Grant (Grant of Freuchie)." 2
