"Charles Stuart was the son of Hon. Archibald Stuart and Anna Henderson. He married, firstly, Christian Bennet, daughter of Sir William Bennet, 1st Bt. and Christian Morison, in 1697. He married, secondly, Jean Hamilton, daughter of Alexander Hamilton, 2nd of Dalzell and Bethia Henderson, on 24 August 1700. He died in 1732.

He was officer, 3rd Foot Guards. He held the office of Master of Works, Tower of London. He lived at Dunearn, Fife, Scotland"
