  Marriage Notes:

"Sir James Stirling, 4th of Keir and 1st of Cawder was the son of Sir John Stirling, 3rd of Keir and Margaret Forrester. He married, firstly, Janet Stirling, daughter of Andrew Stirling, 12th of Cadder, in 1534, under duress. He and Janet Stirling were divorced. He married, secondly, Jean Chisholm, daughter of Reverend William Chisholm, in 1542. He died in 1588.

His wife brought the estate of Cadder to him."
