"Sir John Stirling, 3rd of Keir was the son of Sir William Stirling, 2nd of Keir and Mariotta Fleming. He married Margaret Forrester, daughter of Sir Walter Forrester, 7th of Torwood, 2nd of Garden and Agnes Graham, in 1513.1 He died in 1539.
He was a guardian of the infant King James V in 1513. He held the office of Sheriff of Perth in 1515."
