"Earl Alexander married Margaret, daughter and heiress of Sir David Dunbar of Cockburn, co. Berwick, and Auchtermonzie, co. Fife, which last barony was granted for the heroic defence of King James I. when he was assassinated in 1437.She was afterwards married to Sir William Wallace of Craigie, and in frequent litigation 1474-96."
