John married Euphemia ELPHINSTONE, daughter of Alexander ELPHINSTONE 1st Lord Elphinstone and Elizabeth BARLOW, 13 April 1540(contract).1 (Euphemia ELPHINSTONE was born on 11 May 1509.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Euphemia (Elphinstone), born 11 May 1509. She had in 1533 an illegitimate son by King James V, named Robert Stewart, who was in 1581 created Earl of Orkney. (See that title.) She afterwards was married (contract 13 April 1540) to John Bruce of Cultmalundie, with issue."
