Catherine married George GORDON 3rd Earl of Aberdeen, son of William GORDON 2nd Earl of Aberdeen and Susan MURRAY, before 22 August 1759.1 (George GORDON 3rd Earl of Aberdeen was born on 19 June 1722 1, baptised on 20 June 1722 in Methlick parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 2 and died on 13 August 1801 in Ellon House (Haddo House), Ellon parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

"George (Gordon), third Earl of Aberdeen, was born 19 and baptized at Methlic 20 June 1722, and was served heir to his father 11 July 1746. He was elected a representative peer for Scotland 1747-84. By his wife Catherine, daughter of Oswald Hanson of Wakefield, county York (whom he married before 22 August 1759, and who died 15 March 1817, aged eighty-four, and was buried at Methlic) he had issue"

1. George, Lord Haddo, born 28 January 1764. He married 18 June 1782 in the parish of St. Giles, Edinburgh, Charles, youngest daughter of William Baird of Newbyth (who died at Clifton 8 October 1793), and by her had issue :

(1) George, fourth Earl of Aberdeen. Lord Haddo died v. p. 2 October 1791, and was buried at Methlic.

2. William of Ellon. Died 19 March 1845. Buried at Boulogne.

3. Catherine, died unmarried at Traquair 30 September 1784.

4. Anne, married, 5 July 1787, to Edward Place of Skelton Grange, Yorks., one of the earl's executors, and had issue.

5. Susan, died unmarried 26 July 1795.

6. Mary, married, 12 March 1789, to Thomas Horton of Howroyde Hall, Yorkshire. She died August 1852, and was buried at Rippenden. He died 22 December 1829. They left issue."
