William Dalgarno and Issobell Mitchelsone had a son William baptised in Penicuik in March 1659. In the baptism narrative he is referred to a 'lawfull', meaning he was born within a marriage relationship. 1

He marr. Anna Keith, and had issue James, had sasine of an annual rent from lands of Raeshaw, etc., April 1678 ; John, apprenticed to Edward Cleghorn, goldsmith, 3rd Nov. 1675, and to William Henderson, merchant, Edinburgh, 21st Sept. 1681 ; Janet (marr.
