General Notes: "In October of the same year (1431), during the rejoicings connected with the birth of an heir to the throne, the Lord of the Isles was restored to his freedom, dignities, and possessions. His accession to the earldom of Ross was delayed for some time. Since the death of the last Earl in 1424 the earldom remained in. the Crown, and continued as a Crown fief down to 1435. Alexander married Elizabeth SETON, daughter of Sir Alexander SETON of that Ilk, Lord of Gordon and Elizabeth GORDON heiress of Gordon.1 2 (Elizabeth SETON was born about 1418.) Marriage Notes: "Elizabeth, said to be married to Alexander, Earl of Ross, who died in 1449." Alexander next married. |
