IDENTITY

This Thomas Cheyne's family has not yet been identified.

The Cheyne Family WebSite lists a father and son named Thomas, the father being approximately chronologically consistent with this man. Citing Guild Burgesses, 1399-1631 page 84, it states:

" Thomas Cheyne, elder, sailor, married to a daughter of a burgess and his son Thomas Cheyne, younger, sailor, married to a daughter of a burgess were made burgesses of Aberdeen, 23 September 1594. No other details were included. (Council Register XXXV.)" 2


Thomas married Isabel FORBES, daughter of Alexander FORBES 6th of Tolquhon and Alison ANDERSON.1 (Isabel FORBES was born about 1538.)

"Isabel (Forbes), who married (1) Thomas Cheyne of Stricken, and (2) the Tutor of Lovat."
