Isabel married John GORDON 3rd of Pitlurg, son of John GORDON 2nd of Pitlurg and Jannet OGILVIE 'of Cullen'.¹ (John GORDON 3rd of Pitlurg was born about 1545 and died in 1600 ³.)

"His (John Gordon's) Son John Gordon ... Laird of Pittlurg married my Lord Forbes daughter with whom he begat two Sons [and a daughter Barbara married Hon. Alex. Elphinstone, 3d son of fourth Lord Elphinstone ] viz. John Gordon fifth Laird of Pittlurg and Mr Robert Gordon of Strathlock."

The fourth laird of Pitlurg was also named John Gordon; the fifth laird was his brother, Robert Gordon of Straloch.




"Isabel (Forbes), born 16 October 1548, married to John Gordon of Pitlurg. She was buried at Aberdeen on 22 March 1622."
