"James Farquharson of Inverey and Balmoral was the son of Alexander Farquharson of Inverey and Balmoral and Margaret Anderson. He died in 1820, unmarried.
He sold Inverey and Auchindrine in 1786. He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1789. He sold Balmoral in 1798 to James Duff, 2nd Earl Fife."
