  General Notes:

"James a Jesuit Priest, Rector of Donai (Douai); born in 1655" (page 12)

"James, born in 1655, was probably the second son of James Innes of Drumgask. He became a professed Jesuit Priest. He entered the Scots College at Donai (Douai) in 1669 at the age of fourteen. The College diary says of him that he gave great hopes of distinguishing himself later; but that he was a little deaf and more suited to active employment than to deep study. He entered the Society of Jesus at Tournai in 1682. The diary in which the above character of him is given came to be kept by himself for the long space of fourty-four years (1682-1726), during part of which time he filled the office of Rector of the College (1714-1718). He died in 1726." (pages 91 and 92)
