"He (John Forbes) married Mariot, daughter to Robert Gordon of Fotherletter and Udoch. Upon 28th May 1507, Robert Gordon grants a charter in their favour, and that of the heirs to be procreated between them, of the half lands of Udoch and the lands of Meikle Bythe, in the barony of Kinedward, reserving the frank tenement, and reasonable terce of Janet Innes, his spouse (Reg. Mag. Sig.,xiv.,319)."
