"James (Carnegie) of Kinnoull and Braikie .... was succeeded by his son John, who died before 10 August 1709, having married Anne, daughter and heiress of Archibald Auchinleck of Balmanno, when his daughter Anne was served heir to him. She married Robert, eldest son of Robert Carnegie of Ballindarg. Robert Carnegie sold Kinnoull to Lord Panmure in 1742."
