John married Margaret KEITH, daughter of Sir Robert KEITH 2nd Commendator of Deer, then Lord Altrie and Elizabeth LUNDIE heiress of Benholm, after 21 October 1592.1 (Margaret KEITH was born about 1569 and died in January 1602 3.)

"Sir John Lindsay, of Ballinscho and Woodwray, who died 6 January 1609. Testament dated previous day and confirmed 19 December following. He married, first, Margaret Keith, widow of John Erskine of Dun, by whom she had a daughter Margaret and a son. She died in January 1602 without issue to Sir John, who married, secondly (contract dated at Edzell 17 September 1602), Katherine, daughter of John Lindsay of Balcarres, 'Lord Menmuir,' Secretary of State. She survived him, and was married, secondly, to John Brown of Fordell 1615. Sir John had issue by his second wife"
