Helen married Alexander FRASER 1st of Farraline, son of Thomas FRASER 2nd Lord Fraser of Lovat and Janet GORDON.¹ (Alexander FRASER 1st of Farraline was born about 1499.)

"THE FRASERS OF FARRALINE.

I. Alexander Fraser, the first of this family, was the third son of Hugh, fourth Lord (see Note below) Lovat, by Janet, daughter of Sir Alexander Gordon of Auchindown and Midmar, niece of George, second Earl of Huntly. His elder brother, Hugh, was killed at Flodden, on the 9th of September, 1513, unmarried. Alexander died young, but not before he married a daughter of Hugh Ross, first of Achnacloich, third son of David, VII. of Balnagown, by his wife, Helen, daughter of Keith of Inverugie, with issue at least one son, John Fraser, second of Farraline"

There were and are differing designations, and even Christian names for the early lairds of Lovat Frasers, causing much confusion. In the volume quoted above the same 'Hugh Fraser', as quoted here, is named as "Hugh, third Lord Lovat." ¹
