  • Born: About 1519
  • Marriage (1): MUNRO, Robert 14th Baron of Foulis 1

Another name for Margaret was DUNBAR, Anna.2

   User ID: L492.

Margaret married Robert MUNRO 14th Baron of Foulis, son of Hector MUNRO 13th Baron of Fowlis and Catherine MACKENZIE.1 (Robert MUNRO 14th Baron of Foulis was born about 1515 and died on 8 September 1547 in Battle of Pinkie Cleugh, near Musselburgh, Midlothian, Scotland 1.)

  Marriage Notes:

"He (Robert Munro) married Margaret, only daughter of Sir Alexander Dunbar of Cumnock and Westfield, Sheriff of Morayshire, by his second wife Janet (see Note below), daughter of John Leslie of Parkhill, son of William third Earl of Rothes. The Coul MS. says that Lady Dunbar was a daughter of 'the Laird of Haggerton Falcken,' no doubt meaning the family of Falconer of Halkerton, Kincardineshire, from whom the present Earl of Kintore is descended. By Margaret Dunbar, Robert had issue"

from History of the Munros of Fowlis

Note:

Margaret Dunbar is presented in this site as the daughter of Alexander Dunbar's first wife, rather than of his second (following the Coul MS), because the timeline for Margaret's descendants, were she the daughter of the second wife, looks impossible.
