He marr. 22nd Oct. 1776, Helen Constable, who died at Aberdeen 26th Feb. 1817, aged 67, and had issue George, M.A., Kingston, Jamaica, born 18th Dec. 1777, died 11th Sept. 1807; Katherine Jean, born 6th April 1779 (marr. 30th March 1800, John Dingwall of Rainieston, provost of Aberdeen).
