Christian married Roger MORTIMER of Fowlis Easter, Sheriff of Perth, son of William MORTIMER of Attleborough and Aberdour and Unknown, by 1195.¹ (Roger MORTIMER of Fowlis Easter, Sheriff of Perth was born about 1158 and died about 1217 ¹.)

"Christian (de Maule), married to Roger de Mortimer, who got grants from King William the Lion of the lands of Foulis, which formerly belonged to his father-in-law, and two tofts in Selkirk and Clackmannan, which King Malcolm, the King's brother, had granted to William Maule."

"As mentioned above, William is the only known member of the Mortimer family in Scotland before 1180. In the next generation, however, several others come to the fore. The first of these is Roger Mortimer, who appears as a witness in or before 1188. At some time between 1189 and 1195 King William gave him the hand in marriage of Christina, daughter of William Maule, together with the lordship of Fowlis Easter, which had previously belonged to William Maule. Given that he married about 1190, Roger was probably born in the late 1160s and was probably a younger son of William Mortimer of Attleborough and Aberdour. He is associated with forty charters on the People of Medieval Scotland database. Roger was succeeded at Fowlis Easter by a son Hugh Mortimer (fl. 1225x35) and their descendants survived at Fowlis Easter until 1377, when Janet, daughter of the last Roger Mortimer of Fowlis Easter, married Sir Alexander Grey."
