(James V STEWART King of Scots was born on 10 April 1512 in Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland,2 died on 14 December 1542 in Falkland, Fife, Scotland 2 and was buried in 1542 in Holyrood House, Edinburgh, Scotland 2.). The cause of his death was 'grief' after Scots defeat at Battle of Solway Moss. Marriage Notes: "The eldeft, Sybylla Drummond, a beautiful young woman, was miftres to King James the Fifth, who beftowed on her a title of honour, makeing her Lady Kinclevin; fhe was afterwards married to Sir James Herrine of Weftergormoch, bot had never any children, that we hear. It may be, that it was upon this accompt that Cambden, in his Brittannia, giveth this commendation to the ladys of the familie of Drummond, that for theire unparalelled perfections and beautie, the Kings of Scotland made choife of them for theire paramoures." |
