User ID: G989. General Notes: "For three generations nothing more appears on record concerning the family Cawdor or Cadella. In 1230 a Helen de Cadella married Shaw MacIntosh of MackIntosh. However, according to Lauchlan Shaw, the Cawdor charter chest included a writ dated 1236 AD for the lands of Boath and Banchor. According to Martin Coventry, in 1236 the thane of Cawdor took the name of Calder when he was granted the lands by Alexander II." DE CADELLA married. |
