Elizabeth married John CHEYNE 4th of Esslemont, Burgess of Aberdeen, son of Henry CHEYNE 3rd of Esslemont and Daughter OGSTON.¹ (John CHEYNE 4th of Esslemont, Burgess of Aberdeen was born about 1420 and died in 1505 ¹.)

  Marriage Notes:

"John Cheyne was documented in A. Y. Cheyne, The Cheyne Family in Scotland, on pages 66 and 70-73. He was granted a charter to build a castle on the lands of Esselmont in 1500 (W. Douglas Simpson, M.A., D. Litt., F.S.A.Scot.).

John Cheyne married Elizabeth Annand before 1479. He also appears to have been married to an Elizabeth Wawan. Wawan may have been a corruption of Annand or two different scribes may have written it differently. In the secretarial style of writing at the time the two names would appear to be very similar.

John Cheine of Esselmond and his son Henry Chene were made burgesses of Aberdeen during 1500/1501. Council Register VII, 1076."
