Barbara married William MURRAY of Letter Bannachty, Perthshire, son of Sir David MURRAY of Balvaird and Arngask and Jonet LINDSAY, 5 February 1556(1557)(papal dispensation) 2 June 1557(grant).¹ (William MURRAY of Letter Bannachty, Perthshire was born about 1527 and died 6 March 1588(1589) ¹.)

"He (William Murray) died 6 March 1588-89, having married (papal dispensation recited and confirmed 5 February 1556-57) Barbara, daughter of David Pitcairn of that Ilk and Forthar, to whom he granted in her virginity, 2 June 1557, an annualrent out of the mains of Rosyth. By her, who survived him, dying before 30 July 1613, he had issue"
