Catherine married Sir William VAUX Lord Dirleton, Sheriff of Elgin, son of Second Son VAUX and Unknown.1 (Sir William VAUX Lord Dirleton, Sheriff of Elgin was born about 1310 and died in 1364.)

  Marriage Notes:

"William Vaux, by his wife Catherine Douglas, had issue, first Thomas, who was killed at the siege of Berwick, 1355, and second John, who it is alleged, carried on this line of descent, but another account states Thomas's younger brother to be named William, and to have succeeded William, his father, the former William died in 1392, according to " Caledonia, Vol. 2, page 410," and was succeeded by two co-heiresses, but whether they were the daughters of Thomas, or of William, is uncertain. The eldest married John, son of Sir Walter Halyburton, of Halyburton, who became Lord of Dirleton, and whose family after a few descents, ended in three co-heiresses"
